Or, if you prefer to take the bus you can simply catch the 83 on Baltimore Ave heading south for 6 stops. College Park/ University of Maryland has its own stop on the Washington area Metro Rail system. Downtown Washington, DC is just 10 stops or 23 minutes on the Metro Green Line. You also have the option of taking the Yellow Line from the Greenbelt station which is also a 23 minutes ride to downtown.
