It's a net-zero energy building with rooftop solar panels and approximately 17 residents across 3 separate homes connected by an amazing skybridge. The community has several thoughtfully furnished common spaces including a shared living room and an expansive community kitchen with dual stoves, fridges, and dishwashers. There's also a backyard fire pit, coworking nook, and rentable private studio space on-site. The most loved community space at The Union is the stunning rooftop deck with sunset views of downtown Oakland. FROM THE COMMUNITY "We have weekly official communal dinners together and share meal preparation, chores, and host activities in and out of the house together. We work together to keep our house clean, welcoming, and engaged. We do things together like karaoke, movie nights, birthday celebrations, jam sessions, art nights, rock climbing, field trips, even international travel together. We have an opt-in shared vegetarian food program that meets almost all of our dietary needs, and we help each other transform raw food goods into nourishing, delicious food for each other."
