Understand the following about a house will get you a clearer understanding of experience and monthly costs. Sometimes cheaper rent can mask hidden cost and is not a good deal! 1. Is house in a flood zone- this house is in a X flood zone. X means least likely to flood. 2. How much is water and sewer? This home has a private well and septic. Water only costs the electricity to pump it (very minimal). 3. How energy efficient is the house? Newer and homes with good insulation, windows and AC can save you significantly on the electric bills. Some landlords don't care about efficiency because the renters are responsible. Know what the electric bill history is. 4. Drive times: Savannah is an old city. Road layout is not the best and commute times can be significant. Sometimes places out of the way have less commute times during rush hour. Make the drives during your commute times. 5. Does the house have heat? Hope these tips help you find the best fit for you! Trash and water are included. Tenant is responsible for lawn and yard care. First, Last and security is required. Month to month is possible.
