Large brick bungalow in the trendiest neighborhood in midtown Memphis: Cooper-Young. The non-profit American Planning Association named Cooper-Young one of the ten best neighborhoods in the United States because of its historic architecture, live music, and its interesting businesses. Those businesses include a multitude of eclectic eateries and watering holes within walking distance. Great house for a family, one or two couples, or two or three roommates. Really great for two couples or two roommates wanting to share a house, but also wanting privacy and their own personal space. For instance, each couple or roommate can have their own private den!! One couple or roommate upstairs uses the small room for a bed, the smaller room for a closet and storage, and the large room for a great den. Upstairs also has a small bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. The second couple or roommate downstairs uses one bedroom as a bedroom and the second bedroom as a private den/office. The downstairs still has PLENTY of common living areas. The Downstairs of the house has 8 rooms: 1) living room; 2) bonus room is a full sized room separated from the living room by closable French-doors (could be a bedroom, study, or den); 3) separate formal dining room or den which is open to the living room (separated from the living room by half-height built in book shelves - see pictures); 4) bedroom #1 (roughly 12 x 12); 5) bedroom #2 (roughly 12 x 12); 6) bathroom with a huge claw foot tub (tub has shower curtain surround for showers); 7) small laundry room; and 8) kitchen with a dishwasher and built-in microwave; current tenant also has a small eating table for two in the kitchen. Downstairs also has ceiling fans, beautiful hardwood floors, central heat and air, two decorative fireplaces, a large front porch, and a backyard deck outside the backdoor. The Upstairs of the house has 4 rooms: 1) one large, airy bedroom with a ceiling fan; could also be a playroom, office, study, etc.; 2) Bonus Room #2: this is a small room, but I did have a king size bed and a desk in it when I lived there; I then used the larger upstairs bedroom for a living area instead of a bedroom; 3) Bonus room #3: has had a twin bed in it for a child; mostly used for storage or a nice, big closet; 4) small bathroom with sink, toilet, and tiled shower. The Upstairs also has a separate central heat and air system. Available October 1, 2023. Two central heating and air systems!
