There are two small markets less than a mile away as well as a Whole Foods about a mile and a half from the house. Larger, traditional grocers are about two miles away on Carrolton Avenue. On weekends, visiting the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans is a breeze by bike down Esplanade Avenue (20 minute ride) or by the Lafitte Greenway (30 min).
